• Site Name Searches:
  • Try a " Whois" lookup of Internet domain registration information at Network Solutions.  Searches should return second level domain names such as "someplace.com".  Try a website then named "www.someplace.com" and see if luck is on your side.
  • Try a "Whois " lookup of Internet domain registration information which includes computer names and administrators as registered with the InterNIC (Internet Network Information Center).  Searches should return second level domain names such as "someplace.com".  Try a website then named "www.someplace.com" and see if luck is on your side.
  • If these fail, for any number of possible reasons (usually they don't have a unique domain name or the domain name is an alias to another computer), see also: Subject Searches.  Subject searches are a last resort since they may turn up many references.
