This month we present Microsoft Windows Live OneCare. This particular presentation is one of the .Presentation in a Box. that we have received through the Microsoft Mindshare program. Our own Martin Arbagi has been working with this product in order to present it to us along with his review of just how well it works and how easy it is to use.
The Microsoft Website states that “OneCare helps keep your PC safe and secure while making your life easier. From virus scanning, file backups, to automatic printing sharing of all the PCs in your household, OneCare helps manage it all for you. And it's delivered to you in a smooth, hassle-free package.”
New to OneCare is:
This is in addition to antivirus, firewall, antispyware, anti-phishing, PC performance tune-ups, and file backup and restore functionality.
Dr. Martin Arbagi is an Associate Professor Emeritus at Wright State University in the History Department. Dr. Arbagi received his PhD. in history from Rutgers University in 1969. His area of expertise is History of Eastern Europe and the Near (or "Middle") East in the Middle Ages, and Ancient and Medieval History. Dr. Arbagi was recently asked to speak for the Washington-Centerville Public Library following the receipt of a high quality copy of the Book of Kells.
Dr. Arbagi is also active in the Miami Valley Republican Party. He ran for the Ohio House of Representatives for District 40 in the last election.
Dr. Arbagi has been a member of the DMA board for the past 4 years. He is the current treasurer after having spent 3 years as the board secretary. Dr. Arbagi was also involved with Computerfest spearheading signage efforts to make sure we all found the show in addition to finding its various aspects.
Next month we will be presenting on new devices for Video Phone over your Internet connection. Stay tuned for more information.
Also, did you know that the DMA is approaching a third century? We
didn't until Gary Turner mentioned it. And he should know since he's
been here for most of that time.
So to celebrate, we are planning a Thirty Three and a Third party. Details are to be finalized but the plan is for a picnic, perhaps pot luck, with DMA providing the hotdogs and hamburgers. We'll be looking for folks to help with the planning committee so if you are interested, let Gary know.
Facility is wheelchair accessible.
RTA route 19 runs travels Brandt past Fishburg, one block from the building.
Plenty of free parking is available at the facility.
HHAF Hall is one block West of Brandt Pike, just beyond the Huber Heights Post Office.

From I-75, take Needmore East, then North on Brandt Pike(201) to Fishburg.
From Rte 35, take Woodman Drive North, then Right on Brandt Pike(201) to Fishburg. For your convenience, here's a Google map of 5367 Fishburg Road.
After the meeting, we'll enjoy food, beverages, and conversation at C's Pizza, 5186 Brandt Pike, Huber Heights. From the meeting, go east on Fishburg about 0.2 miles to Brandt Pike, then south on Brandt about 0.8 miles to Ci's Pizza.
DMA Trustees have been struggling to provide adequate facilities for our monthly General Membership meetings. Both UD and WSU presented challenges. We have been searching for a location that is comfortable for our members, room enough for all attendees, offers free parking, equipped with audio, visual, and internet, and still affordable for the organization. HHAF Hall meets all qualifications. Apple-Dayton meets here regularly.
April was our trial month and it went well. We have reserved the Warrior Room for the coming year.
All are welcome. The meetings start at 7:00 p.m. Guests are always
welcome.
