The Web-Development mailing list is for programmers / web site designers in the greater Dayton area to share their experiences and ask questions related to developing and maintaining web sites. We expect to primarily discuss LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and Perl / PHP / Python), although we will not exclude other technologies. This Mailman list was started on Tuesday, May 3, 2005. At this time, the Web Development mailing list is only that - a mailing list. There are no scheduled meetings. If sufficient interest develops, this may become a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Dayton Microcomputer Association (DMA®). Messages posted from an address not a member of the group will be discarded. This means that if you are subscribed to the list using First_name.Last_name@some.isp (eg. John.Doe@some.isp), but you post a message from an account Last_nameFirst_initial@some.isp (eg. doej@some.isp), that message will not be accepted even though one address may be an alias for the other. Mailman inserts the list name [Web-Development] in the subject automatically for messages sent to the list. Administrative messages, such as the welcome message when you subscribe, don't do that. Using Web-Development
To post a message to all the list members, send email to web-development@dma.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Web-Development
Subscribe to Web-Development by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
