DMAŽ Board of Trustees/
Officer Elections
By George Ewing, Nominations Chairman
Elections are held at the annual General
Meeting in September. The DMAŽ by-laws state specific requirements to
be a nominee for a Board of Trustee or Officer position. Each year,
three people will be elected as Board of Trustees for a three (3) year
term by the membership present at the September General Membership meeting.
At the October Board meeting, the President, Vice-President, Secretary
and Treasurer are nominated and then elected by The Board of Trustees
for a one (1) year term.
Requirements:
ˇ Must be a paid up individual regular or associate member of DMAŽ
in good standing for at least the 12 months prior to election.
ˇ Must be twenty-one (21) years of age before the date of the election.
ˇ You are required to sign both forms and return to the Nominating
Committee Chairman by August 31, 2003.
Any
DMAŽ member wishing to run for a Board of Trustee position shall contact
the Nomination Committee Chairman or committee members. The Committee
will send you a Nomination Packet consisting of a copy of the current
DMAŽ by-laws, an Expression of Interest and Commitment form and DMAŽ
Code of Ethics Form.
The Nominating Committee Chairman will
send every eligible nominee a certificate of acceptance notice. Every
eligible nominee will be asked to send a short write up, electronic
form preferred, not to exceed 500 words, and a photograph before September
1, 2003, to be printed in The DataBus. This write up should include
a Biography and why you would like to be a DMAŽ Trustee.
If
you know of a member of DMAŽ that you think would make a good Trustee,
let us know and we will contact them.
Nominations will not be accepted from the
floor on the evening of the election, Tuesday, September 30, 2003.
