New Rules for DMAź Board Meetings

By Carol Ewing, DMAź Secretary

DMAź Board of Trustees approved the following "housekeeping rules" for all board meetings.  The goal is to make the meetings more efficient for trustees and all guests.  DMAź board meetings are open to all members.

Meeting times will be from 7 P.M.  to no later than 10 P.M.  The President will control the time limits.

The first thing on agenda is to review the agenda and decide what should be kept, tabled or sent to committee.  Unscheduled guests will have 2 (two) minutes to talk, then the board will decide if they want to continue with the issue and/or can ask for a written report and be put on agenda for the next board meeting.  The report must be sent to the board by Friday noon prior to the Monday board meeting.  Officers, Committee, Old and New business reports will have 5 (five) minutes.  The board has the option of extending the time, tabling the report or sending it to committee.  Anyone sending a report for agenda item will be asked for estimated time.  All reports and proposals must be sent to the Board, dma-board@dma.org (not just Secretary), by Friday noon prior to Monday board meeting.  If this is not done, the Board may not accept this as an agenda item for this meeting.  The board may decide to add it to the agenda next month.

The Board will decide if any issues are an emergency and need to be dealt with immediately.  Executive Session will always be after New Business and prior to Good of the Order.
