On Tuesday May 2nd, 2006 a very special meeting of the Ham Radio SIG will
take place at the studios of channel 16, Think-TV, Dayton's Public
Television station.

Channel 16 will be hosting a meeting that started as a DMA HAM Radio SIG
idea and has expanded to include several other Dayton area technical groups.

Topic - HDTV What, How and WOW
Come meet the Wizard behind the curtain.

The talk will include the following:
* what and how HDTV is different from what we have now
* what to look for in your new TV
* what to avoid in your next TV
* DTV, EDTV, HDTV how is it delivered to your home, terrestrial, cable,
satellite, computer??
* How is the digital television different from the existing analog
television service?
* And, when will analog shut down?

Please join Think TV staff engineers as we sit down and review the number of
ways to receive DTV signals, and what makes up the digital broadcast stream.
We will also take a tour of Think TV's facility and you will see the current
digital transition from analog to digital.

Time
  6:30 PM  A meet and greet sponsored by Channel 16 and the SBE group with
snacks and refeshments.
  7:00 PM  Meeting will start - PLEASE try to arrive on time.
