The latest news and accomplishments on ham radio's digital modes
highlight the 20th annual South West Ohio Digital Symposium, Saturday,
January 14th.
The sessions begin 9 a.m. at Thesken Hall on the Miami
University Campus at Middletown. See <www.swohdigi.org> for the latest
news and directions.
Symposium director Henry Greeb, N8XX, has announced the
presentations already scheduled which include;
1. A new record for 802.11b 2.4 GHz spread spectrum at
the Las Vegas WiFi Shootout
2. Use of WinLink 2000 for normal and emergency communications.
3. PSK-31 updates
4. EchoLink use and practice
5. APRS for public service and experimental communications
6. AMSAT updates
7. Plus ARRL news and other updates.
Director Greeb also announces room on the schedule for
one or two more subjects. Write him at <hgreeb at one.net> if you have a
specific topic of interest to present or suggest.
Registration for the Symposium begins at 8 a.m. with
presentations on various digital modes scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. It
is free but a nominal charge for lunch (deli sandwiches to be delivered
at noon) will be offered. Beside Mr. Greeb, Miami University professor,
Carl Morgan, K8CM, also directs the annual event on behalf of Dial
Radio Club of Middletown.
