Carol and I want to invite you to join us by Volunteering for another fun
event.
This is a Great opportunity to assist in teaching the youth in the area by
helping with the A2/SOAR building at the Dayton Air Show July 27 - 29, 2007.
There will be a Volunteer Orientation meeting where you will pick up your
parking pass and get more information. This is usually the Thursday before
the show, but your email you get back when you volunteer will let you know
for sure.
Shifts available - you can volunteer for one or more shifts:
Friday July 27, 8:00am-1:00 (need to serve lunch)
Sat July 28: 7:30am-1:00pm & 12:30-6:00pm
Sun July 29: 7:30am-1:00pm & 12:30-6:00pm
Yes, I know the 27th is a Friday and the air show is Saturday and Sunday,
but Friday only Students Open to Aviation Research (SOAR). They put on a
special half day session of exhibits for the Dayton area youth allowing them
the opportunity to engage in career exploration and educational activities
while experiencing the Dayton Air Show. Elementary through high school
students participate in hands-on learning and listen to presentations
designed to encourage their curiosity in math, science and engineering - all
in the context of aviation concepts, principles and applications.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday - Volunteers are asked to do a variety of tasks
such as helping in booths, talking to children about aviation or other
careers, checking tickets, crowd control, clean up, set up, tear down, and
other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Please note that these programs will be
in the air-conditioned exhibit hall, which is a building outside the air
show gates (no ticket purchase required).
In addition to having FUN you will get
a FREE PARKING PASS next to the air-conditioned exhibit hall
Volunteer will be awarded a FREE AIR SHOW general admission ticket for
each shift worked (good for Saturday or Sunday).
Volunteers will have food and beverages during their participation.
