Tuesday June 5 at 7:00 at 119 Valley Street

Come on down for the June meeting of the Ham SIG.

By special request, we will take a look at PSK31, the perennial favorite for digital HF communications. A couple of people have asked about setting up and getting psk to work ... it is not as hard as it looks, once you get past the hardware piece. Unfortunately one size does not fit all depending on your rig and your PC, so we will try to send you home with the info you need to get on the air quickly, and at little cost.

Ken is donating the use of his Kenwood TS-480 and I will bring the cables and whatnot, and hopefully we can get a working digital station set up at DMA HQ. Of course that whole block is an RF nightmare and these demos rarely go perfectly, so be prepared to be entertained by Shawna while we get the rig configured.

Shawna promises some really great computer news this month; I do not know what she has gathered but I do know she has a knack for finding the latest toys and the wildest news.

Speaking of toys, bring any purchases you made at Hamvention, as well as any great stories. I am also available to bring any comments or suggestions back to the DARA Hamvention board. Kudos to Glady and Gary and the other folks who set up a DMA booth at Hamvention and brought a lot of visibility to the SIG and to DMA.

You do not have to be a licensed ham radio operator to be a part of this group. You do not have to be a DMA member to participate in SIG meetings. All it you need to have is an interest in computers and radio!
