[Amateur-SIG] Tonight Ham SIG

Wow, May is here and this meeting has snuck up on me!  I apologize for the
short notice! 

 

Come on down to Valley tonight at 7:00 for the Ham SIG .. This is a great
night to come to the group with something you have been working on or having
trouble with.  I am a bit short of a full program since my idea machine is
deployed to NY with the Red Cross (that would be Shawna, N2TUJ) though she
did offer to call in a computer news update! 

 

I will bring my latest project, something you might find interesting and
potential useful for APRS or public service events.  I have been assigned to
help iron out the technical details of a GIS mapping system for the Red
Cross Disaster Services.  With help from the Montgomery County Auditors
office we are well on our way.  I will bring in the FREE software and the
CDs from the County, and together we can figure out what is useful and learn
about this amazing capability.  I will have the links for the Montgomery
County data, as well as the free program and other goodies.  

 

Along with that let's spend some time planning for the summer;  getting
together some ideas for meeting topics, projects and special events. 

 

I will give a Hamvention update, especially speakers since that is my area -
Forums.   Plus we can discuss DMA at Hamvention - not sure if we can make it
this year or if there is a good reason for DMA to be there, but we may pop
up a tent so let's chat tonight!
