[Amateur-SIG] Tuesday Meeting
toddc at woh.rr.com
[Address Concealed]
Mon Nov 5 18:30:20 EST 2007
Time has slipped away again -- here we are the night before a Ham SIG
meeting!
Topics I hope to look at include a piece of software called Emergency
Manager that is in use by Cincinnati ARES for EmComm. There are some
other pieces of software on this guy's site that may be of interest to
the group -- we can download and play!
I will bring in my fancy Alinco data rig and see if we can get the
crazy thing to work and demo how few wires it can take to go Digital.
I haven't even cracked the manual so this could get interesting!
Shawna is at a conference so we may or may not have a Computer Update
directly from her -- we are hoping to set up an Echolink session from
her hotel but without access to the router at the hotel to open ports
we may have less than stellar success.
As always we can discuss the trials and tribulations of your rigs and
try to apply the group effort to fixing your problems.
I will bring the latest news from the DMA board and any upcoming
events ... and together with the things we come up with during the
meeting should be a full night!
As always everyone is welcome to join us for the Ham SIG, you do not
have to be a member or an amateur radio operator to enjoy the Amateur
Radio and Computers SIG.
Come to 119 Valley Street on Tuesday November 6 (don't forget to vote
first!) at 7:00 pm.
