The first Tuesday of September is upon us and this is your reminder that the Ham SIG is Tuesday 9/4/2007 at 7:00pm.
A veritable stew of things to do ... starting with a new concept for fall: If you have been having trouble doing some of the neat things we have discussed over the past year or so, bring your questions and difficulties to the Ham SIG! The collective experience of this group is quite impressive and we should have you on track in short order! It is not much fun struggling alone when all the help you need is right here ... or at least we can find an Elmer who can get you where you need to be.
I have a few items we never got to last month, including a pretty cool looking build project, and some fun photos from a few of the field day setups I visited in June. Shawna will have her regular computer update, so you will be at or ahead of the curve with the latest cool stuff (though we still are not quite sure what Apple will be announcing on the 5th ... though maybe Shawna knows and just ain't telling!)
I would also like to reach a consensus on doing a joint adventure with the local Geocaching group. I still have not attending a meeting of this organization so I have no idea if they would be game ... but I have a vision of what could be a very fun weekend event that would get us out of our chairs and into the woods.
You do not have to be an amateur radio operator or a DMA member to attend a meeting (though you are welcome to become one, the other, or both -- and we can help you along the way).
Meeting is at 119 Valley Steet at 7 pm, hope to see you there!
