Seems like the winter is just whistling away ... almost over depending on which groundhog you believe. I can't believe it's February... snuck up on me again as evident by this short notice!

Ham SIG is back in action after a New Year's hiatus, with our first meeting of 2008 on Tuesday Feb 3rd at 7:00 pm at the DMA HQ on Valley Street.

Topics to explore include amateur radio involvement in the regional exercise that is taking place this month. It's an all hands on deck chance to show off ham radio -- I will fill you in on the details and how you can get involved.

I was hoping to take some time over the weekend to learn more about PSKMail, but an event ran long and I got distracted by the Superbowl (and a cold). I would like to review the resources we learned about at the Digital Symposium and see of this is a project that the group would like to take on ...

Speaking of the symposium, if we get the normal complement of attendees we should be able to review what was hot and what was not at the symposium this year -- bringing the rest of you up to speed on what happened at the event.

Shawna will be there with a complete review of the computer news and our impossible task of the day will be to try to connect to Reuben's repeater from Valley Street ... at 9600 baud! I would like to see that working! OK not quite Road Runner, but they don't have to comply with Part 97!

Come one come all, you do not have to be a ham radio person to be a part of this, nor is DMA membership required (though highly suggested).

See you Tuesday!
