[DMA-Announce] Are you missing your Databus?

At the last DMA General Meeting, several people told me they didn't get
their Databus. There are several possibilities depending on whether you
received your Databus Late or you haven't received it at all.

If you're not receiving it at all, perhaps your membership expired. In
2003 we increased our dues from $15/year to $25/year. We allowed the
membership to purchase up to 3 years at the old price. Your time was
added on to the existing time left on your membership. As a result, it
is only now that many of these memberships are expiring. How can you
tell? Well if you look at the address on an old databus, you will see
that there are three numbers. The first is your member number. The
next two are the month and year of expiration.

Perhaps you renewed your membership. In order to get the Databus mailed
in time to support the monthly meeting, we have to freeze the database
for the month at the first week. If you delayed in getting your renewal
to us, then you may have been left off this month. In general we mail
you one additional Databus after your membership expires. For instance,
this months mailing would have included people who expired in July. If
you expired in June and did not renew until the second week of August,
I'm afraid you are out of luck for the month. We do have a limited
number of extra copies and as a member, you can always download past copies.

ARe you getting your Databus late? Please check the address and make
sure it is OK. It is particularly important to have the Zip + 4. We
send our Databus out using bulk mailing and the Zip + 4 insures accurate
delivery.

If you are still not receiving your Databus on time, you may want to
talk to your post office. The last three Databus's were sent to the
post office at least 10 days in advance of the meeting date. This
should be plenty of time to get it to you even if it is third class.

Contact editor at dma.org to follow up with your delivery. Be sure to
include your membership number with your comments. We will make sure
you get your Databus.
