GENEALOGY SIG REMINDER: The November meeting of the Genealogy SIG, Thursday, 1 November 2007, will be held at the Xenia Library, 76 E. Market St., Xenia, Ohio in the Green Room. The meeting will be at the usual time, 7 to 9 PM. Our host will be Ms Diana Ulvestad, Staff Genealogist.

"Brick Walls" and how to get around them will be the topic of the Greene County Chapter of Ohio Genealogical Society's monthly meeting Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Greene County Library, 76 E. Market St., Xeniq. The meeting starts at 1:30 P.M.
"Everyone who has ever researched their ancestry has run into a brick wall sometime," says Helen Lehman, chapter president. For further information contact Sharon Wilson, program chairperson, at 848-3017. The Greene County Chapter of OGS meets the first Saturday of each month in the Xenia Library. The public is always invited.

Saturday, October 27, 2007 - Genealogical Databases: A Research Tool or a Waste of Time and Money
The Montgomery County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will conduct its annual seminar from 1-4:30 p.m. on October 27 in the Auditorium of the Dayton Metro Library, 215 E. Third Street, Dayton. The seminar is free and open to the public.
Thousands of new genealogy web pages are added to the Internet on a daily basis. Databases everywhere offer information. Some are free, some are not. How do you decide which databases to use? What techniques can you use to get the most for your money? Our seminar will provide valuable answers to these questions.
