The February Meeting for the DMA Genealogy SIG will be 7 February 2008.

Yes, I know this is unusual; we usually do not have a meeting in February because of the Family History Jamboree in Kettering.  Please bear with me.  The person I have found to address us leaves the area (military PCS) in April; and this is the best time I can arrange to accommodate her schedule.  I don't want to miss it!

Yes, I know it is only two weeks after the January meeting.  Please bear with me.

The February meeting will focus on presentations of all your research efforts!  This is how you bring to life your work.  Do you want to make your family history leap off the page for your descendents later on?  Lorraine Wagenman will be leading us into a whole new area that I think members will find interesting.  If you have scrapbookers at home, bring them to this meeting with you!  Lorraine will introduce us to Digital Scrapbooking for Genealogists!  It's new!  It's different!  She will show you examples of what can be done and give you all sorts of reasons why you should consider this technique.  And lastly, she will leave us with some great internet sources to explore on our own.  

In all my shopping around genealogy circles, I have not seen or heard of anyone involved with digital scrapbooking.  I think it is neat and offers some great applications to genealogists.  Some of you will probably say "this is just fluff".  Well, some of us probably need a little fluff in our lives!

Plan on being at our February Meeting at 119 Valley St., DMA Headquarters, at 7 PM on Thursday, 7 February 2008.
