Nancy,

I’ve seen mixed reviews on the S5200.

See the following from Digital Camera Info:
http://www.digitalcamerainfo.com/content/Fujifilm-FinePix-S5200-Digital-Camera-Review-.htm

Or this from PCMagazine:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1905073,00.asp

I see prices as low as $224. Looks like a great price for
a super-zoom camera. Maybe too good; but the reviews seem
to indicate this is a good deal at this price. I have not
tried this camera but do have a super-zoom Panasonic Lumix
FZ20 with 12x zoom. I like it a lot. Although these
cameras do not have interchangeable lens they are SLR.
Perhaps that is the reason for the name “mini-SLR”. If
you do not want to spend more than this, it looks like a
good camera for the money. These certainly provide a good
alternative to the SLRs with changeable lens. In fact, at
this price you could not buy a lens for the other cameras.
It looks like this Fuji has much better speed than my
Panasonic.

Good luck on your shopping.
