Hi Tom,
Thursday, July 27th 6pm at the Dayton Expo Center is the orientation. This
is run and required by SOAR
Anyone planning to volunteer for SOAR at the Air Show OR are on the
photographic team OR want to sign up for the photo team must attend the
above orientation.
That is where assignments will be firmed up and parking passes issued.
Parking passes and tickets to the show come through the SOAR committee not
me. So you must qualify yourself by attending orientation. If you are on
the photo team right now when not shooting something specific for SOAR
(press conferences or celebrity appearances) you will be ranging at large
taking shots of interest. Check with me first I will have the agenda for
your shift.
Anyone wanting to go the air show this is the way to do it----as a volunteer
or as a volunteer/ photographer----
You get a parking pass and are waived through to your parking spot by the
Expo Center ---money cannot buy this perk
Work a shift and you get a ticket to attend the air show proper.
The expo center has air conditioning-trust me this has its own value.
Food/beverage is provided to volunteers for working their shifts.
I worked the show last year and was treated very well.
I still have photography spots open on the 28th, 29th and 30th so contact
me via email for arrangements. Make sure you bring your cell phone and I
have the number because that is the only way I can contact you at the show.
Be ready to shoot, I am hoping to get a room for our equipment, if not then
bring all you need to shoot and store your 'extra's in your car. The
parking area has people security. Tommy will be in charge of collecting the
picture files.
As a photographer for SOAR you will have privilege and status for the expo
center. I have two media passes which extends our reach to the entire show.
I will be using one of the passes. The big day for SOAR is the 28th---that
is where they will be hosting kids from local schools and they come in by
the bus loads.
