Argh! All messages sent to our Photo-SIG mailing list are publicly archived.
Since e-mail addresses of several people were included in that response, their
addresses are now exposed to the public for spammers to harvest. I can make
the archives private, which means you would need to use your e-mail address
that you used to subscribe to the list and the password that was assigned, or
that you subsequently assigned, to login to view archives. How many of you
remember what your password is? It would also mean that the archives would not
be searchable via Google, or any other public search engine. Or I can spend a
few hours and edit the addresses out (or delete the message) and try to figure
out how to how to recreate the web archives without duplicating existing
messages. Or I can do nothing and allow everyone affected to get even more spam.

Never include someone's e-mail address in a public e-mail without their
specific permission - it's an open invitation to spammers.

Finally, that message was really only appropriate for Tom anyway. No need to
send it to the entire mailing list. Please pay attention when responding to
mailing list messages. Some lists are configured to only respond to the person
who sent the message, but that tends to limit open communication on the list.
Our lists are configured to reply to the mailing list to stimulate
participation by other subscribers.
