[Photo-SIG] How to fix uneven lighting?

here are two ways to work on specific areas of an image:

1-create adjustment layer/layer mask, fill with 50% grey, expose or hide as 
needed on various areas of photo (similar to selective but nondestructive 
dodge and burn)

2-create adjustment layer/layer mask, fill with gradient, expose or hide as 
needed

try search on "layer mask", and "dodging and burning" via layer mask...

the photoshop tutorial downloadable files on the Tripod camera club have 
step by step procedures for step by step method for #1 above...
