Hi,

I just stumbled across a kind of battery I hadn't heard of before.
It's Sanyo's eneloop Ni-MH <www.eneloop.info>. The unusual thing
about them is that they're shipped fully charged, so you can use them
without needing to charge them first. They have an extremely low
self-discharge rate that allows them to do that. They claim they will
retain 90% or their charge after six months and 85% of their charge
after a year! Not quite as good as non-rechargeable Lithium batteries
in that respect, but these are rechargeable. Circuit City sells a
4-pack of AAs with charger for $30 <www.snipurl.com/10j0r> and Amazon
sells a 4-pack of AAs w/o charger for $15 <www.snipurl.com/10j16>.
They're rated at 2,000 mAh. Have any of you tried them?
