OK, I've been thinking about what to have for our next meeting. I was
inspired by the Focus on SIGs General Meeting of the DMA.
Most of the SIGs are adopting a format similar to the Linux SIG. That
is to spend the first half hour to an hour addressing questions by
people who are new to the technology. This will be an open discussion
forum. I think we should do the same for the Digital Photography SIG.
The next hour would be spent on the topic of the evening. Anyone who
would like to volunteer to present on a new technology or whatever topic
we agree to discuss would happen here.
Any remaining time would be spent on "Show and Tell". This is the
opportunity to share projects, or just brag in general. It would also
be another opportunity for more specific "High Tech" questions to be
bantered about.
For the June Meeting I was thinking of doing something on that other way
of making Digital Photographs, scanning of film prints. I recently went
to the graduation exercises for a young friend of mine and noticed there
were quite a few people in the audience with throwaway 35mm cameras.
So, how to e-mail or scan such prints for your friends and family.
So for our June 28th meeting at 7:00 pm at Wright State University in
Room 240 in Allyn Hall, from 7 - 7:30 we will discuss any
problems/issues people may be having. Then from 7:30 - 8:30 we will
have a presentation on Scanning. I will bring a scanner with me so we
can look at the various outputs and different resolutions. Then from
8:30 - ??? we'll have "Show and Tell" and Open discussion.
See you on June 28th.
Nancy
