[Photo-SIG] Lunar Eclipse

Did any of you get to see last night's Lunar eclipse? I forgot about
it until about 8pm. I think some of it should have still been
visible, but the sky here was as thick as pea soup. :-( But I was
having fun playing with my new toy(1), so I wasn't *too* upset. ;-)

I searched for Lunar eclipse March 2007 on Flickr and found several.
The ones I like best so far are
<www.flickr.com/photos/fftang/409243354/>,
<www.flickr.com/photos/skyburst/409252308/>, and the sequence
<www.flickr.com/photos/jonasthomen/409556078/>.

(1) Yesterday afternoon I bought a Digital Foci Picture Porter Elite
<www.digitalfoci.com/picture_porter_elite.html> at the PPO show from
Cord Camera. It's an 80GB portable multimedia display / backup device
that has a 3.6" 320x240 display, can display JPG and RAW photos, can
play MP3, WMA, & WAV audio files as well as certain video files,
includes an FM tuner, which can be programmed to automatically record
certain stations at specified times, and is about $300 less than the
similar Epson P-5000 <www.snipurl.com/1byn7>, which has a 4" 640x480
screen. If you really want WOW! factor in a portable multimedia
display, the Epson P-5000 is the one to get, but it's also $300 more
expensive and doesn't have as many features. The FM tuner in the
Digital Foci seems to be astoundingly insensitive. I couldn't pick up
a single station. Maybe using earphones would work better - it might
use the headset wire as an antenna. So I need to decide in a few days
whether to keep it or spring for another $300 for the Epson, which has
a stunningly beautiful display. Think of the Epson P-5000 as a
diminutive Apple Cinema Display. ;-)
