There is a Perl Mongers meeting Wednesday, June 8th, at 7pm at 119
Valley St. Directions are at http://www.dma.org/to-us.html#ValleySt. We
always go out for dinner after the meeting ends, so you may want to plan
accordingly.

This month, Paul Ahlquist is graciously bringing his serial-enabled XM
Satellite Radio and various sundry bits of code and wants to use Perl
and POE (http://poe.perl.org) to build a GUI interface for tuning and
scanning the radio. After that is completed, he plans on adding an IRC
interface so that his friends (and foes) can dictate what he listens to.

Okay, I may be making that last part up. But I'm going to try to
convince him to do it anyway.

Also, I still have this copy of Perl 6 Now: The Core Ideas Illustrated
with Perl 5 waiting for someone to read and give a presentation on. I
really will try to remember to bring it to the meeting.

You can find more at http://dayton.pm.org, or subscribe to our mailing
list by visiting http://mail.pm.org/mailman/listinfo/dayton-pm.

Frequently Asked Questions
--------------------------
Q: What is the Dayton Perl Mongers?
A: Dayton.pm is a SIG of DMA. We advocate the use of the Perl
   (http://www.perl.org) programming language.

Q: I don't know Perl. Can I still come?
A: Absolutely. If you'd like to learn more about Perl, we can show you
   the ropes.

Q: I don't like Perl. Should I still come?
A: Well, that's kinda up to you. We do talk about things that aren't
Perl (python, ruby, PHP, etc) or aren't Perl specific (network
programming, event driven programming, design patterns, etc) or
aren't related to Perl or programming at all (Linux, BSD, networking,
etc), but we are a Perl group.

Q: Why am I getting this message?
A: You're probably on a mailing list that I thought might be interested
in hearing about our meetings. If I'm wrong, please let me know, and
I'll remove your list from the list of lists.
