Sensory Scouts is a monthly workshop for teens and tweens with autism and sensory processing disorders. This program allows participants to explore works of art through gallery discussion, sensory explorations, art making in the studio, and social skills activities designed in collaboration with a social skills specialist.
The DMA is excited to offer the Sensory Scouts as an opportunity for teens and tweens to explore the galleries independently with DMA staff, but if participants are not comfortable attending unaccompanied, we welcome parents and caregivers. Following each program, we will provide parents and caregivers with a summary of conversations and skills explored during the program, including ideas for extended learning.
