DMA Partners in Book Talk are invited for a special book-club style discussion of Cathy Marie Buchanan’s novel The Painted Girls and a related tour.
in the Cook Boardroom on level M2
Set in Belle Époque Paris and inspired by the real-life model for Edgar Degas’s Little Dancer Aged Fourteen and a notorious criminal trial of the era, The Painted Girls is a tale of two remarkable sisters rendered vulnerable to the darker impulses of “civilized society.” Book Talk participants are encouraged to read the book before the discussion. A tour of selected works from the DMA’s collection will follow.
Space is limited and a reservation is required. Please reply to Maegan Hoffmann by Wednesday, January 22 via e-mail at mhoffmann@DMA.org or by calling 214-922-1208.
