Originally formed in Austin, SPEAK has its roots in the dreamy pop of Radiohead and Sigur Rós, as well as the electronic pastiche of Beck and Cut Copy. The released their first album I Believe in Everything in 2011, produced by Frenchie Smith who also worked with The Dandy Warhols, Trail of Dead, and The Darkness. In 2010 they won the Austin Music Award for Best New Band and have since appeared at SXSW, Voodoo, and Austin City Limits. They are currently working on their second album at their studio in Austin.
The After Hours Music Showcase is a showcase for Texas musicians and bands, both established and emerging, from all genres of music. The Showcase is part of Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art.
