Late Night Talk: Rejected Princesses

This event has already passed

Prompted by the question “what is the least likely woman to ever get the animated princess treatment,” Dreamworks animator Jason Porath started a blog called Rejected Princesses, where he researches and illustrates the lives of women from history and myth who were too awesome, awful, or offbeat for mainstream animated films. In this talk, he will discuss his work and a few favorite Rejected Princesses from over the years.

Porath has published two books inspired by this project: Rejected Princesses: Tales of History’s Boldest Heroines, Hellions & Heretics (2016) and Tough Mothers: Amazing Stories of History’s Mightiest Matriarchs (2018). After the talk, the author will sign copies of his books in the DMA Store.

This talk is part of Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art
