Off the Wall takes a unique and unexpected look at the Museum’s collection with a pop culture twist. Join us to take a closer look at batik textiles, Indonesian culture, and the 80s classic The Karate Kid

Relax and color the intricate textile patterns from Java while sipping a specialty cocktail.

Listen as Jamal Mohamed and the World Music Ensemble play sounds of the Indonesian islands.

WAX ON, WAX OFF

Make batik fabric samples of your very own and see the process up close. 

INDONESIAN INSIGHT
6:30 p.m., meet at the main Visitor Services Desk
Tour Waxed: Batik from Java and find motif connections to the rest of the Indonesian collection.
